Loved it! It was clean and well run. Felt safe the entire time and got to meet some great people. Hostel is right above party district so hopefully you don’t mind a bit of noise. Other than that, 100% would recommend

Proximity to beach (surf view from every window), great atmosphere, excellent room (stayed in the womens only 6person own bath dorm)

Très bon auberge, la piscine sur le rooftop est accessible pour tous et permet de rencontrer des gens et de se faire des amis pour le vacances. La chambre est très sympa et les lits confortables, le personnel très agréable et très compréhensif face à nos problèmes. Attention cependant, ce n’est pas parfaitement bien expliqué sur ce site, mais le prix indiqué n’est pas le prix que vous allez payer sur place. Évidemment les taxes ne sont pas incluses, et le montant que vous payez pour faire la réservation n’est pas touché par l’hôtel. Je vous conseille donc de passer directement par le site de l’hôtel, je pense que cela sera plus simple :)

Best property with lot of amenities, this is the best place to live in Downtown LA at affordable price

The staff was super friendly, and always here to help me when I needed. The hotel’s location is good (Downtown LA), but consider taking an Uber if you want to see iconic spots such as Hollywood, Venice Beach, etc… The hotel’s cafe is also a good place for breakfast. Overall, I had a great stay at Freehand and recommend this place if you’re traveling on a budget!

Steps away from the beach, nice coffee shop just in front, nice people from all over the world, farely close to LAX (get à shuttle if you're not gonna rent a car). When checking in, people were sleeping in all but 2 beds but they all seemed to be taken. I went to the desk and they told me it wasn't supposed to be so. It looked like he and the girl who was finishing off her shift genuinely cared. The guy took on him to wake people up to see which bed was free (it was passed midnight and I didn't really want to do it myself). In a party place such as Venice, you can't really expect the staff to care but it's a nice touch when they do. It turns out they had just spread out their stuff.

Great central location at the Venice Beach and promenade,, excellent exterior, nice interior, private bathroom with all new facilities, spacy lockers, comfortable bunk beds, friendly and hepfull staff,, Stylish Danny's right down. Close to all the bus stops. Cleanliness is ok, a free towel.. Overall impression is positive. Definitely, the best place to stay in Venice (LA)

The location is phenomenal! You only have to walk 50 meters so get to the beach. And there are also some hostel activities like "taco tuesday" which are really funny because you get to know so many other people there. It was really cool to stay there because I was travelling alone and didn't know anybody.

Great staff who are very welcoming and attentive. There's plenty of restaurants and shops around the area. Sufficient toilets, relaxing beds, comfortable mattresses

Easy access to the sights and rides. Accommodating staff and very informative. Would definitely recommend!

Nice place

L’accueil fût tout simplement incroyable. La propriétaire de l’auberge est accueillante er bienveillante. Je me suis sentie chez moi, après avoir parlé de mes insécurités de mon premier voyage en solo. Je ne peux que recommander cette auberge tellement elle est incroyable

L'auberge est située juste en face de central park, et a coté du métro, un très bel emplacement! Nous avons eu un accueil extrêmement chaleureux et ils ont été très arrangeants pour le dépôt de bagages, mais aussi pour nous conseiller des endroits à visiter. Les espaces communs sont très bien et cozy, et la cuisine est très bien équipée. Le ménage est fait tout les jours, et les salles de bain sont très propres. Allez-y si vous aimez les auberges de jeunesse, vous serez très bien lotis!

Chambre fonctionnelle avec un petit rangement, il manque quand même une petite table, emplacement idéal en plein milieu de manhatan !

L’auberge est vraiment bien, c’est un bon rapport/qualité prix. Les chambres et les espaces communs sont propres, tout comme la douche et les toilettes ! Le principal de proposer des dortoirs et des chambres pour 2 personnes est super aussi ! Mais, voici les bémols : - la fenêtre de notre chambre de s’ouvrait pas, et sachant qu’on avait pas forcément le temps d’aérer en journée vu que nous étions pas là, au bout d’une semaine, l’odeur dans la chambre est devenue très désagréable. - Dans les cuisines, ils ne proposent que des couverts en plastique pour manger. Donc si vous voulez couper des carottes par exemple, bon courage ! Par contre, ce qui est génial c’est que l’auberge est super bien placée ! À 20 minutes de Times Square en transport, 15/20 minutes de Tribeca et Soho, pareil pour aller à Central Park. Sa location permet de faire et visiter beaucoup de lieux emblématiques rapidement, vu que c’est à côté.
