We provide a fun & friendly atmosphere with social areas for guests to meet and chat.
Our communal TV room (including Netflix & Hulu) outdoor guest patio provides great options for relaxation in a community space.
All of our guests have access to free Wi-Fi
Outdoor furniture, Beachfront, BBQ facilities, Terrace, Garden, Shared lounge/TV area, shared kitchen, Beach, Cycling, Hiking, Bicycle rental.

All participants of our Mauna Kea Tour need to be at least 13 years of age in order to go to the summit. Our Mauna Kea tour is not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart/respiratory problems, and those that have scuba dived within 24 hours.

Our hostel has been in business since 1990 & is modeled after the hostels in Australia & Europe. We've recently added AC in all rooms & are always looking for new & interesting ways to keep up with the times.
Located in a delightful coastal area of Hilo & on the $2 bus route.

Proof of outward-bound air travel will be requested.
Credit card & reservation name, need to be the same. Guests must present a valid photo ID.
Quiet hours are enforced between 10:00p.m.-7:30 a.m.
We are not a party hostel.
Our front desk closes at 5:00 pm. No late check ins after 8:00pm. Any check-ins requested after 8:00 p.m. will be assessed a fee of $20 per half hour. Please note that if your flight arrives in Kona (KOA) after 6:00 p.m., that you will not be able to make it to our lodge in Hilo in time for check-in. We will not accept check-ins after 9:00 p.m.
